Hi, Tyson Popplestone here. After transitioning from professional running into the AFL scene, I was surprised to discover that, despite running being a fundamental aspect of the game, players received very little guidance on how to improve their running performance.

I saw many players pushing themselves hard on the track every day, yet seeing minimal improvements in their running performance. It quickly became clear that the outdated mentality of ‘work harder and the results will come’ was prevalent. Moreover, players weren’t taught the simple strategies for running efficiency that could save them valuable energy on game day.

  • If you' a coach or player who wants to learn how to run over the top of your opponents in the latter part of a game but you're not sure where to start...

    This membership will provide you with the training programs and guidance to help you improve your technique, running efficiency and your running fitness. It’s not for anyone wanting a ‘quick fix’ or short term solution.

    We’re about developing skills and putting in the work required to get your players or yourself to you peak running potential. If you understand the importance that running efficiently plays in Football performance and you know you haven't tapped into your teams full potential yet...this is for you.

  • In my opinion a phone call is worth 100 emails. We can talk in more depth about how you’re handling your training, how to make it work with your clubs training commitments and anything else that you’re navigating in your week. The Gold option gives us space each week to speak on the phone about how to make the training more specifically tailored to you and your goals.

  • I’m so certain you/your team will be running more efficiently that if for some crazy reason you haven’t improved after 12 months, I’ll happily refund your entire membership fee*. Simply contact our support team here.

    *There is hard work involved and it takes consistency and practice to get better. The AFL Running Guarantee requires you to keep the conversation open and honest with me in the forum. If you're not seeing the results you want to see, we need to be speaking about what is holding players back from doing the work. You must also add a video of your players running for analysis at least every two months so that I can provide the feedback and coaching to help you change the way they run.

  • If you're a coach looking for the best option for all of your players, there are some massive advantages to your team by offering them a team membership.

    **- Hyperlinked Sessions:** There's a lot of sessions which are 'hyperlinked' within the programs. The link sends players to a sprints/distance page where they have the freedom to select programs based on fitness levels and player positions. An individual pass won't allow players to access those sessions.

    **- Player Access to Me:** One the team access, Every player at your team will have my email address so they're able to message me all season long to speak to me about specific concerns and questions in regard to running fitness/training sessions/adapting and adjusting based on fatigue. This point is the reason I limit the amount of teams in order to be able to keep my communication up with players.

    **- Player Flexibility:** Players can follow sessions over x-mas new year break without you needing to stay on top of sharing different sessions for different players. They can also have a bit more clarity when it comes to planning there running around their gym sessions.

  • Getting a video analysis of your running is simple. All you need to do is upload your video to Youtube, send me the link and I’ll do the rest. I’ll do a complete analysis for you with adjustments to make, drills to follow and key focus areas. The best angles to get are from the front and side.

  • Use the training programs provided at the relevant times of the season. If there is something that would be of value to you and your team, reach out and ask for it. Submit videos for analysis and ask me for guidance on anything that is unclear. Enjoy the fresh pre-season programs provided each year to keep the training fresh and the players enthused.
