Hi, I’m Tyson Popplestone.
Running has been in my genes for longer than I can remember. From my great Uncle Hank racing around the track against the likes of Ron Clarke to my Dad dominating the running sessions during his football career, the love of the sport clearly filtered down to me.
I started running when I was 12 and won my first state title a year later. What followed was more than a decade of competitive running, including winning a State Championship over the Mile, running 8.10 for 3000m and representing Australia in 2010 at the World University Cross Country Championships in Canada.
My 12 years in the sport was my PHD in running performance. Not only did I learn from my own mistakes, but I also learnt from athletes I trained with like Craig Mottram, Steve Moneghetti and Stewart McSweyn. I was lucky to have these insights and I thought it would be great if every runner could have the same insights.
From that Relaxed Running was born.
